Alan R. Brayton

Alan R. Brayton is a co-founder of Brayton Purcell LLP, located in Novato, California. Providing representation to clients throughout the country, he focuses his practice on complex plaintiff's personal injury and mass tort litigation. The types of cases that Mr. Brayton has handled have involved medical malpractice, mesothelioma and other diseases resulting from asbestos exposure, and defective medical devices. Early in his career, he successfully tried one of the first asbestos cases to be heard in the Superior Court of California — County of San Francisco.In 1971, Mr. Brayton received a Bachelor of Science in economics from the United States Air Force Academy and was commissioned a second lieutenant upon his graduation. After obtaining a Master of Arts in finance in 1972 from the University of California, Los Angeles, he pursued his legal studies at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1976. Admitted to practice in California and Hawaii, Mr. Brayton is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of California, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 3rd and 9th Circuits, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the Supreme Court of the United States.The successful outcomes that Mr. Brayton has been instrumental in obtaining on behalf of his clients throughout his career have led to widespread recognition among his fellow attorneys, as evidenced by his receipt of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo.
