With nearly a decade of experience in criminal defense, she has jury trial experience in federal, felony, and misdemeanor cases. She is currently Vice President of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (SACDLA), Vice President of the Texas Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (TCADP), and serves on the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Project Committee (CDLP). She was awarded SACDLA's 2019 Young Lawyer of the Year award and was recognized as a Super Lawyers 2024 Texas Rising Star in Criminal Defense. She also serves as Of Counsel for the Flanary Law Firm, PLLC.Earning her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in international relations from The University of Texas at San Antonio, Ms. Hernandez obtained her law degree from the St. Mary’s University School of Law. While in law school, she was a recipient of the Stars Scholarship, the Judge Lee H. Lytton Jr. Scholarship, and the St. Mary’s Dean’s Law General Scholarship.
