Andrew J. Ghekas

Andrew J. Ghekas is a partner at Anthony & Partners, LLC, based in their Tampa office. His legal practice is devoted to representing businesses and individuals in complex commercial matters, focusing on a broad range of commercial disputes. He has accrued significant experience in fraud and asset recovery, loan and foreclosure litigation, post-judgment collection, fraudulent transfer litigation, noncompete and trade secret litigation, antitrust claims, shareholder disputes, and other complex contract and business litigation.Throughout his career, Mr. Ghekas has also engaged extensively with appellate courts across Florida and at the federal level. He has successfully obtained reversals and defended numerous judgments and rulings, effectively furthering his clients' objectives. His appellate experience includes cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th and 9th Circuits and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida. Moreover, he has defended against efforts to obtain jurisdiction before the Supreme Court of the United States and the Florida Supreme Court.A native Floridian from the Greater Orlando area, Mr. Ghekas attended Florida State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in history and economics. He later obtained his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, graduating magna cum laude. In law school, he served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Elizabeth A. Kovachevich at the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the Honorable Catherine Peek McEwen at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida. His academic achievements were recognized with numerous awards, including the Honorable Alexander L. Paskay Bankruptcy Award and Scholarship.Mr. Ghekas is admitted to practice in Florida and before several prestigious courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States and the Florida Supreme Court.
