Christopher S. Mattingly

As a founding partner of Mattingly Cavagnaro, LLP, Christopher S. Mattingly brings decades of experience to family and divorce law. From the firm's office in Buffalo, New York, he provides representation to clients throughout the area who are facing the end of their marriages and dealing with issues such as complex property division, child and spousal support, and child custody and visitation. A skilled litigator, Mr. Mattingly also often seeks to resolve some of these matters through litigation.Mr. Mattingly earned his Bachelor of Arts in English and political science from Canisius College in 1988. He then pursued his legal education at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1991. He has focused his practice on family law for his entire career.Mr. Mattingly has served on the Matrimonial Practice Advisory and Rules Committee of the New York State Office of Court Administration. A member of the executive committee of the New York State Bar Association Family Law Section, he is also a certified arbitrator with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and has been court appointed to serve as an attorney for children involved in cases in front of the New York State Supreme Court.Mr. Mattingly is licensed to practice law before the courts in the state of New York. He was the president of the New York Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers from 2011 until 2013 and currently serves on its Board of Governors, and he is also a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. Other professional groups that Mr. Mattingly actively participates include the Bar Association of Erie County.
