The types of matters that Mr. Shapiro has handled from his firm in Los Angeles, California, have included will contests, trust contests, trust administration disputes including allegations of breaches of fiduciary duties, contested conservatorships, guardianships, and financial elder abuse actions. Mr. Shapiro has been certified as a specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law by the Board of Legal Specialization of The State Bar of California.As an undergraduate, Mr. Shapiro attended The University of Texas at Austin and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1995. He then pursued his legal education at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2000. While in law school, Mr. Shapiro served an internship with the Environmental and Natural Resources Division of the United States Department of Justice. He has been admitted to practice before all California state courts since 2001. He is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central and Eastern Districts of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.Mr. Shapiro is an active participant in several legal organizations, including the Trusts and Estates Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, the trusts and Estates Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Litigation Standing Committee of the Trusts and Estates Section of California Lawyers Association, formerly the sections of the State Bar of California. Active in his community as well, he has served on the board of directors of the Rotary Club of Playa Venice Sunrise Foundation and Los Angeles Estate Planning Planning Council. He currently serves on the executive committee of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Trusts and Estates Section.
