David B. Hoppe

David B. Hoppe is the managing partner of Gamma Law in San Francisco, California. Mr. Hoppe handles matters in several areas, including corporate law, entertainment law, general counsel services, intellectual property, international transactions, investment and securities, mergers and acquisitions and startups. He represents clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.A practicing attorney for over 25 years, Mr. Hoppe has worked in several different cities, both nationally and internationally. His clients have included individuals, small businesses and major media and technology companies. His practice has a particular focus on blockchain technology, entertainment, esports and video games. He authors articles on legal topics and speaks at events including the Japan Online Game Association. He holds licenses to practice law in California and New York.Mr. Hoppe lived and worked in Japan for several years and is a member of the Japan Society of Northern California, the Inter-Pacific Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He writes and speaks Japanese and regularly travels to Japan for speaking engagements and to meet with clients. He also belongs to the Blockchain Game Alliance, the Video Game Bar Association and the VR/AR Association.After earning a bachelor’s degree, Mr. Hoppe graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. Over the course of his legal career, he has worked in a diverse range of roles, including as a North American general counsel for a Japanese video game publisher, an in-house international counsel for a Silicon Valley-based internet portal and as a senior associate with an international law firm based in New York.
