Donald K. Tamaki

Don Tamaki is a partner at one of San Francisco's leading law firms, Minami Tamaki LLP. A diverse and business-oriented attorney with more than three decades of experience, Mr. Tamaki largely directs his practice toward providing counsel for a broad base of commercial and nonprofit clients in matters of human resources, distribution, licensing, leasing, acquisition and other types of business transactions. Past clients of note include the State Bar of California, Nth Connect Telecom Inc., AVerMedia, Gardner Family Health Network and even the Consulate General of Japan. He represents clients throughout the Bay Area.In addition to practicing business law, Mr. Tamaki has considerable experience in the area of high-exposure entertainment law cases. Some of his representative clients include an Olympic gold medalist ice skater, a prominent news anchor, an award-winning documentary filmmaker and an independent film distributor.A socially conscious lawyer, Mr. Tamaki's community service endeavors are also considerable. He famously served on the pro bono team that worked to reopen a historical United States Supreme Court case, and due to Mr. Tamaki's instrumental role, the Supreme Court overturned the conviction of a Japanese American citizen for evading internment during World War II. He is also a member of the Glide Foundation board and presides over the board of the San Francisco Japan town Foundation as its president.Mr. Tamaki is a 1976 graduate of the University of California at Berkeley School of Law. He received his undergraduate degree from the same well-respected university in 1973, graduating as an esteemed Phi Beta Kappa member.
