Eric Weitz

Focusing his practice primarily on personal injury and wrongful death litigation, Eric H. Weitz is the founder of The Weitz Firm, LLC. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he provides representation to clients throughout the greater metropolitan area, and he also has experience in bad faith and other insurance coverage disputes as well as other types of civil litigation. Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania since 1992, Mr. Weitz is also admitted to practice before all New Jersey state courts.In his personal injury practice, Mr. Weitz assists clients who have incurred economic and noneconomic losses due to the negligence of other persons or entities. The types of cases that he has handled have arisen out of incidents involving medical malpractice, defective products, construction site accidents, premises liability and motor vehicle crashes. During his career, Mr. Weitz has been able to recover millions of dollars in compensation for his clients through both jury awards and settlements that he has negotiated out of court with defendants and their insurance companies. Some of his representative results have included a $28.7 million jury verdict for a child who was rendered a paraplegic as a result of a motor vehicle accident and a $15.1 million award in a mass tort case for mothers who took seizure medications during their pregnancy and whose children incurred birth defects as a result.These and other successes have earned Mr. Weitz a great deal of recognition from his colleagues, including being selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America and being named to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100. He is also a life member of the invitation-only Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Mr. Weitz received his Juris Doctor cum laude in 1992 from Villanova University School of Law.
