G. Oliver Koppell

G. Oliver Koppell is an attorney and principal at the Law Offices of G. Oliver Koppell & Associates in New York, New York. Mr. Koppell represents plaintiffs in employment discrimination matters throughout the New York metropolitan area including Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. His firm also handles matters in the areas of commercial litigation, consumer protection, malpractice, product liability and personal injury.Licensed to practice law since 1966, Mr. Koppell is also licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has more than 40 years of legal experience in both the private and public sectors.Having litigated extensively at both the trial and appellate levels in the State of New York, Mr. Koppell has also argued before the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School.Before his current position as principal of his private New York-based firm, Mr. Koppell held a variety of other legal roles. He was a member of  the New York State Assembly where he authored hundreds of laws including the Adult Guardian Law, the Home Energy Fair Practices Act and the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act.Additionally, Mr. Koppell is a former New York State Attorney General and former chair of the Standing Committee on Judiciary of the New York State Assembly. He has also been a member of the New York City Council, representing the Riverdale section of the Bronx.
