Jack E. Urquhart

Jack E. Urquhart is a trial and appellate lawyer with a focus on Civil Rights, and Consumer Law. He is located in Houston, Texas, and provides representation to people throughout the greater metropolitan area and other parts of the state. Mr. Urquhart has been admitted to practice before all Texas state courts since 1973, and he is additionally admitted to practice before several federal trial and appeals courts. He has advocated for clients in important cases whether in JP court or before the United States Supreme Court.Mr. Urquhart attended Williams College in Massachusetts as an undergraduate, majoring in political science and receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1969. He then went on to pursue his legal education at The University of Texas at Austin’s School of Law. While he was there, Mr. Urquhart was the articles editor of the Texas Law Review before graduating with honors in 1973 and being inducted into the Order of the Coif. Prior to opening his own practice, he was a partner as well as of counsel at several Houston-area law firms.Mr. Urquhart’s case load has included civil rights issues, personal injury and wrongful death litigation, labor and employment law, complex business disputes, and constitutional law. Many of his cases have gone to jury verdict, and thousands of others have come to a favorable conclusion through alternative dispute resolution methods. His successful track record both in and out of the courtroom has earned him a great deal of recognition from his fellow attorneys, including a “Superb” peer review rating through Avvo. He is a sustaining life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, and his other professional affiliations include the Houston Bar Association and the Texas Association of Mediators.
