James J. Periconi

James J. Periconi is the managing principal and owner of Periconi, LLC, an environmental law firm in New York City, New York. Mr. Periconi's practice focuses nearly equally on commercial property transaction counseling, environmental litigation and regulatory matters. His creative and innovative ways of bringing difficult deals to successful conclusion has earned him the praise of developer and property-owning clients as well as professional recognition. Due to his experience, Mr. Periconi has twice been appointed a federal court Special Master in Clean Water Act cases and often acts as an expert witness in environmental law in federal and state actions, most recently in 2024 in a case in California.Mr. Periconi has served on numerous environmental boards and organizations and has authored or co-authored several papers that have appeared in legal and environmental journals and publications. A New York native, born in the Bronx, Mr. Periconi is admitted to practice in the United States Courts of Appeals for the 2nd, 3rd and 6th Circuits, as well as all federal district courts in New York. He received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1977.
