Representing those in the state of Florida, Jay Cohen is a senior partner at the Law Office of Cohen & Blostein, P.A. He handles cases of personal injury and wrongful death and has a successful 30 year record of representing plaintiffs and defendants, providing him with a more intricate understanding of how an injury caused by negligence may affect all parties.Mr. Cohen’s law practice is focused on personal injury cases in the following areas:  adult, pediatric, new born and misdiagnosis cases constituting malpractice; brain injury, birth injuries and treatment delays; prescription, emergency room and diagnostic study errors; failure or delay to provide treatment, anesthesia accident and hospital negligence. A member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, Mr. Cohen has spent his career both representing victims and their families and uniquely defending a chain of hospitals.After completing his undergraduate program, graduating cum laude from the University of Florida in 1975, Mr. Cohen then went on to South Texas College of Law to earn a Juris Doctor. Admitted to the State Bar of Texas and The Florida Bar. An elected member of The Florida Bar Board of Governors, his peers have also recognized him with a naming to the Legal Elite , DBR Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year finalist in consecutive years and Best Lawyers of America for many years.Sharing his years of experience and knowledge, Mr. Cohen was an ad junct professor at St. Thomas University and Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. He regularly speaks and presents to the Plaintiff’s Trial Bar Association and to groups of physicians and hospital groups.
