Joseph A. Nigh

The founder of The Nigh Law Group, Joseph A. Nigh is a highly regarded attorney in Columbus, Ohio. Representing clients across the state, he focuses his practice primarily on family law matters, including divorce, child custody and support, alimony and property division.   Attorney Nigh has handled cases in nearly half of Ohio’s 88 counties and has obtained favorable decisions for clients throughout Ohio.  He believes that to be able to adequately evaluate a case and advise a client an attorney must have experience dealing with cases in court and he has that exact experience needed to help you and your family.As an undergraduate, Mr. Nigh attended The Ohio State University, where he majored in psychology and received a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in 2001. He then attended The Ohio State University | Michael E. Moritz College of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 2004. While there, he took additional law school classes and graduate courses to earn a Certificate in Children Studies.   Mr. Nigh has been a partner in two other Columbus law firms before founding The Nigh Law Group in 2016. Admitted to practice in Ohio, Mr. Nigh is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the Supreme Court of the United States.Mr. Nigh was hired to develop and teach a course on Divorce Trial Practice at The Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University.  He is also frequently asked to deliver presentations, both nationally and statewide, on a variety of subjects for continuing education for attorneys and for other professional groups. Some representative topics have included advanced child and spousal support and alienation and abuse allegations for the National Business Institute, a course on human trafficking for the Columbus Bar Association, and one on children as witnesses in family law litigation for the Ohio State Bar Association. Mr. Nigh received a 10 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo, and he has been named to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100, among other awards that can be found on his website.  His firm has also been named "Best Litigation Attorneys in Columbus".
