Lisa M. Tatum

As the principal and managing partner of LM Tatum, PLLC, of San Antonio, Texas, Lisa M. Tatum brings two decades of legal experience to a practice that focuses on public and government finance, local government, board governance, employment law, elder guardianships, and general and litigation counsel. Ms. Tatum's geographical practice area includes the entire state of Texas, focusing on San Antonio and outlying areas of south central Texas. Previously, she served as an assistant district attorney in Bexar County. She handled a variety of criminal cases, to include DUIs, violent crimes and drug charges.Ms. Tatum earned her Bachelor of Arts from Smith College in 1991 and subsequently enrolled at Santa Clara University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor in 1994. As a member of the State Bar of Texas, she is admitted to practice in the state courts of that jurisdiction. She has also been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.Throughout her career, Ms. Tatum has distinguished herself from her peers. She has held the presidency of the State Bar of Texas, as 2013-2014 President, and serves as a member of its board of directors. Ms. Tatum previously worked as counsel to numerous governmental agencies throughout south central Texas, including the San Antonio Development Agency and the San Antonio Housing Authority.Ms. Tatum is also a member of the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association – San Antonio Chapter and the National Association of Bond Lawyers. She is a former Vice Chair of the Commission for Lawyer Discipline of the State Bar of Texas and an alumnus of Leadership San Antonio. She is a member of her local area chambers and Rotary International. Ms. Tatum has also taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
