Matthew M. McElroy

Serving as an attorney with the San Jose-based law firm – Castaneda & Company, in California, Matthew McElroy has about eight years of experience in the field of law. Extending his practice statewide, he focuses his practice on real estate litigation.At West Valley College, Mr. McElroy completed his bachelor’s in business administration and management in 2006, following which he enrolled in the San Jose State University to secure a second degree in marketing. Later, he pursued his interest in law and joined Lincoln Law School of San Jose to obtain his Juris Doctor in 2015. In law school, he made it to the dean’s list and was the recipient of the Academic Excellence Award for real property and criminal law.Being a licensed real estate broker authorized by the California Department of Real Estate, Mr. McElroy has the practical knowledge and experience, backed up by his legal cognizance, that allows him to better serve his clients in complex matters of real estate. While still in law school, he took his first steps into the field of real estate litigation by joining an internship with a private firm that handled landlord-tenant matters and paperwork for real estate transactions. He has also worked as an office manager at the Metropolitan Real Estate Services and an appraisal apprentice at the Metropolitan Appraisal Services.Joining Castaneda & Company as a law clerk in 2016, Mr. McElroy initially gained experience in drafting internal memos, organizing and responding to discoveries, and collaborating on pleadings and motions. Eventually, he delved into the depths of residential/commercial real estate, construction, contract fraud and professional negligence. Standing with the clients throughout the legal process, he helps negotiate and draft commercial leases, review and draft contracts, counsel and coordinate workplace-neutral evaluations, and more.As evidence of his remarkable legal acumen and quality of client service, Mr. McElroy has been rated “Good” on Avvo.
