May Harris

May Harris is the founder of the For Purpose Law Group, a Professional Law Corporation, a firm dedicated to serving the needs of the nonprofit organizations and social enterprises.Graduating from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2000, Ms. Harris earned her Master of Arts degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management in 2010. Because of her education and experience, Ms. Harris holds an unique insight into the nonprofit sector, and approaches issues not only from a legal or regulatory perspective, but also from a practical, management oriented view.Ms. Harris not only represents organizations in the nonprofit sector – she also spends many hours volunteering her services, and serving those in need. Believing that philanthropy and service is a life-long endeavor to be modeled, she has served in Guatemala and Jamaica with her children on medical service trips, and she volunteers as a mentor withe Crawford High School Academy of Law, a program for at-risk youth seeking an introduction to the legal profession.Ms. Harris is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the California Bar Association where she is a member of the Taxation Section and the Tax Exempt Organizations Standing Committee.
