Patrick Short is an attorney based in Rockwall, Texas. As the founder of the Law Firm of Patrick Short, Mr. Short handles, criminal defense and personal injury matters. He has over 40 years of legal experience and serves clients in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and throughout North and East Texas. He is an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School for Criminal Boot Camp serving since 2018.Prior to opening his firm, Mr. Short served as an assistant criminal district attorney for Rockwall County, Texas. This experience informs all parts of his practice, as it provided him with extensive courtroom experience in high-stakes situations.Mr. Short has been listed in the publication The Best Lawyers in America, and the American Association for Justice listed him among the “top 100 trial lawyers.” He is board certified in criminal law and personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and in criminal law trial advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.Mr. Short is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Rockwall County Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a graduate of the Trial Lawyers College. He holds licenses to practice law before all Texas state courts, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
