Patrick W. Murray

Patrick W. Murray is a co-founder of SMT Legal. Highly regarded for his accomplishments as a civil trial attorney, he now focuses his practice primarily on personal injury and wrongful death litigation from the firm's office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In that regard, Mr. Murray provides representation to people throughout the western part of the state who have been harmed by the negligence of other parties in cases involving premises liability, nursing home neglect, truck, motorcycle and other motor vehicle accidents, and other similar incidents that have resulted in economic and noneconomic losses to his clients. In addition to personal injury matters, he has significant real estate experience, and his family law background has included child custody disputes.Mr. Murray has been able to obtain numerous sizable settlements and jury verdicts in his personal injury practice, and as a result, he is a member of the invitation-only Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and Ohio, Mr. Murray is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit.Mr. Murray served as an editor on the Duquesne Law Review before receiving his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in 2003. Prior to becoming a plaintiff's attorney, he served as defense counsel for trucking and railroad companies in personal injury litigation, and he then went on to defend cases involving premises liability and medical negligence. Mr. Murray is active in several legal and charitable organizations.
