R. Melissa Masoom

Rukhsanda Melissa Masoom has spent much of her life between three states: New York, Massachusetts, and Texas. She completed her professional education in Massachusetts, including a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and a J.D. from New England School of Law. Melissa has long been motivated to embark on a career that allowed her to make a positive change in the world, which is what drew her to family law.Throughout her years of legal experience, she has been in and out of the courtroom for a variety of case types. In addition to family law, she has handled personal injury claims and complex mass tort litigation. She is admitted to practice in Texas. Melissa can speak English, Bengali, and Hindi fluently.Melissa is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section, the Houston Bar Association, and the Houston Young Lawyers Association.In her free time, Melissa volunteers with Daya Inc. legal clinic, the Montrose Center, and the Women’s Center of Houston, providingpro bonolegal assistance to clients in need.
