Mr. Young represented one of the executive producers of the Academy Award winning film "Dallas Buyers Club" in a dispute with his co-executive producer over the latter's unauthorized spending of partnership funds from their movie production and marketing business entity. The matter went to private arbitration and settled., 2016
David Soliz v. J and B Hicks., et al, Cause No. 2022-66023 in the 80th Judicial District Court of Harris County, Texas. Mr. Young was co-counsel on a case filed against their clients, a vehicle repair business and the individual owners, by a former employee asserting numerous torts ranging from breach of fiduciary duty to fraud. The Plaintiff claimed damages of six million dollars. The trial court granted the clients' motions for summary judgment and dismissed the case., 2023
Texienne Hosp. Sys. L.P. v. KKU Surgical Mgmt., LLC, No. 14-21-00006-CV, 2022 Tex. App. LEXIS 2904 (Tex. App. Houston 14th Dist. May 3, 2022, pet. denied) Mr. Young represented a group of physician-hospitalists who sued a hospital for breach of contract for failure to pay them. Mr. Young won at trial and his client was awarded the full amount of their contract damages as well as interest. The verdict was affirmed on appeal by the Fourteenth Court of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court denied the Petition for Review., 2019
