Ross Spence currently serves as the president of his law practice at Ross Spence, P.C., a position he has held since February 2025. A board-certified attorney in both civil trial law and business bankruptcy law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a robust track record to his role. His practice areas include business bankruptcy, business litigation and civil litigation.Mr. Spence possesses extensive first-chair experience in both jury and nonjury trials, covering a broad spectrum of matters, including bankruptcy, oil and gas, and real estate, among others. Since beginning his legal career, he has been actively involved in numerous high-stakes transactions and has successfully briefed and argued several appeals and mandamus actions. His skills extend beyond the courtroom; he is adept at negotiating international oil and gas operating agreements, showcasing his ability to handle complex legal and business challenges.Admitted to practice in multiple federal courts, including the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Western Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, Mr. Spence has a broad jurisdictional reach. His skills are also recognized on a national level, having been admitted to the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.Mr. Spence's commitment to the legal community is evident through his memberships in prestigious organizations such as the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association (HBA) and their respective foundations. His leadership skills were recognized in his past roles as chairman of the HBA’s Litigation Section and chair of its Fee Dispute Committee. He continues to serve the community as an arbitrator for fee disputes.At The University of Texas at Austin School of Law, Mr. Spence completed his Juris Doctor cum laude in 1986 after receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree  cum laude in English from the University of Virginia.
