Roy Petty

Attorney Roy Petty is the Chairman of the Immigration & Nationality Law Section of the State Bar of Texas (2022-2023) and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Dallas Bar Association (Immigration Section). He is Board-Certified in Immigration & Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Roy is the Editor of the State Bar of Texas' Immigration Bulletin. He has practiced immigration law for more than 30 years. Due to his diligent efforts, he has earned a reputation for providing creative, customized, and effective solutions for those seeking a better life in the United States.Licensed to practice in Florida and Arizona, as well as Texas, Mr. Petty has gained notable experience litigating a wide range of immigration-related issues against the federal government before various district and appellate courts in the country. He has also served as an invaluable advocate for those defrauded by unscrupulous immigration law consultants, helping them to recover the exorbitant fees they paid in the hopes of having their immigration cases handled competently and efficiently.For his efforts, Mr. Petty has helped enact positive changes in bureaucratic policies regarding immigration laws, and he has assisted numerous clients with obtaining the government benefits they deserve as well as reducing the delays in their cases. Mr. Petty obtained his Juris Doctor in 1991 from The University of Arizona College of Law, where he served as managing editor of the Law Journal on International and Comparative Law.
