Sara M. Schmook

The founder of The Schmook Law Firm, Sara M. Schmook focuses her practice primarily on a variety of family law matters. Her firm is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and she furnishes knowledgeable and effective advocacy to clients throughout the greater metropolitan area. Ms. Schmook has been admitted to practice before all Oklahoma state courts since 2012, and she is also a licensed certified public accountant.A heavy portion of Ms. Schmook’s caseload involves her representation of people whose marriages have irretrievably broken down. She works with them on such divorce-related legal issues as the division of marital assets and financial obligations, alimony, child support, and child custody and visitation, often taking the lead in the negotiation of a comprehensive settlement agreement but appearing in court on their behalf when talks have broken down.Other types of family law matters that Ms. Schmook has worked on have included paternity establishment and disputes, and she has assisted victims of domestic violence in their quest to obtain orders of protection from the court. In addition, she has represented people whose marriages have already been legally dissolved and who are seeking to have existing parenting and support court orders modified or enforced.Ms. Schmook attended Oklahoma State University, where she studied English and accounting. After she graduated, she worked as an accountant for a global company and then for a private accounting firm before deciding to obtain a legal education and enrolling at The University of Tulsa College of Law. While she was there, she interned with a state district court judge before receiving her Juris Doctor in 2012.
