Ted Lyon

The founding partner of The Law Firm of Ted B. Lyon & Associates in Mesquite, Texas, attorney Ted B. Lyon Jr. has devoted his entire practice to civil litigation, including personal injury matters involving wrongful death, and products liability as well as toxic torts, consumer protection and aviation law cases. A lifetime public servant repeatedly recognized in his capacities as police officer, state representative, state senator and trial lawyer, Mr. Lyon has earned a number of prestigious awards and honors dating back to 1979, including the Lifetime Service Award from the Texas Municipal Police Association, Legislator of the Year awards from multiple organizations and Martindale-Hubble's AV-Preeminent* rating.Throughout his legal career that spans more than three decades, Mr. Lyon has represented clients in Dallas, Fort Worth and the surrounding areas in more than 150 jury trials. In addition to achieving several landmark verdicts and settlements, including three ranked among the Top 10, he has been featured on national television programs such as "60 Minutes," "Good Morning America" and "Dateline NBC." He is admitted to practice before the state courts of Texas, the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas.In 1972, Mr. Lyon obtained a bachelor's degree in political science, and he earned his law degree from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 1975. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, the Texas Bar Foundation, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Litigation Counsel of America and many other local and state organizations.
