Former City of Milwaukee police officer, now Amery Chief of Police Steve Heinzl terminated police aide Bethany Eskro minutes after interrogating Ms. Eskro over a Facebook post that Ms. Eskro did not write. The post used a photograph of an agenda for an Amery public meeting posted in a public area of their city hall. Ms. Eskro and others filed ethics complaints against several city employees for their role in hiring Mr. Heinzl, who admits he has no leadership experience. Apparently, Mr. Heinzl and his wife, Anne Marie Navarette like to photograph and post themselves, particularly on Instagram. Some raised the issue because the posts did not seem fitting for a police chief, especially of a small Wisconsin city. Chief Heinzl shutdown the account, apparently losing thousands of dollars each month.
