Ms. Dorn, who suffered severe brain injury while giving birth to triplets at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, had been locked in a legal battle with her former husband Dan Dorn over her rights to see her children. Meyers was successful in arguing that it is in the best interests of children to know and have a relationship with their mother regardless of her physical and mental limitations. On March 23, 2011 Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Frederick C. Shaller issued a ruling ordering regular visits between Abbie Cohen Dorn and her three children.
