Hughes v. State of California, Cal Work. Comp. PD LEXIS 332 Rating of permanent disability favorable to injured worker. WCAB held that the trial judge was not restricted to using the combined values chart from the AMA Guides to permanent impairment. In the absence of overlapping disabilities, the trial judge correctly used simple addition to combine the injured worker's permanent disabilities, 2018.
County of Alameda v. WCAB (Cortes), 84 Cal. Comp Cases, 98; 2018 Cal Work. Comp. PD LEXIS 400 (writ denied). Award of 100% permanent disability upheld on appeal despite apportionment of permanent disability to non-industrial factors where industrial portion of disability is excess of the 100% permanent disability rating, 2019.
