    • “Encouraging the Art of Medicine: The University of South Florida’s Brief to the United States Supreme Court in Bilski v. Kappos,” which recently published in Technology and Innovation: Proceedings of the National Academy of Inventors, argues that a Federal Circuit Court of Appeals decision that potentially excluded methods of diagnosis and treatment from patent protection was in error. The article explains that methods of diagnosis and treatment were among the “useful Arts” the Framers of the Constitution intended to protect, and summarizes and quotes from the amicus brief prepared by Mr. Jeff Lloyd which was filed with the United States Supreme Court to assist the Court's review of In re Bilski.
