In August of 2017 Matthew represented his client in trial requesting that the parties' Doheny residence worth in excess of $5,000,000 be awarded solely to his client based on opposing parties' failure to pay the Court ordered spousal support over the past several years. Matthew client was awarded the Doheny property and the opposing party was held responsible for all encumbrances on the property as well as $4,740 in Family Code Section 271 sanctions. When the opposing party appealed, Matthew represented his client in the appeal. The trial Court's decision was upheld and Matthew's client was victorious once again., 2017
In November of 2021 Mr. Skarin completed a trial in a dissolution matter and all issues were decided in favor of Mr. Skarin's client., 2021

In 2018 Matthew obtained a Judgment in a Dissolution matter after a 6 week trial in front of Judge Byrd of the Los Angeles Superior Court. Matthew was able to have every piece of community property awarded to his client, as well as all of her separate property. Additionally, the opposing party was sanctioned in the amount of $2,000,000 under Family Code Section 271, making this one of the largest sanction awards in the history of the Los Angeles Superior Court. Matthew's client was also awarded $45,000 in monthly child support and spousal support. , 2018
