Pej won a $103,331.00 verdict for his client, Shahzad Daftary in a vehicle v. bicycle case. This impressive verdict was concluded after only one week of litigation. This particular case involved a collision between the Plaintiff and Defendant's opened car door, which resulted in the Plaintiff falling to the ground and having her left arm run over. She withstood severe injuries to her arm that cost $50,831.00 in medical bills. The final compensation amount well-exceeded the Defendant's pretrial offer of $25,000.00 and the cost of the Plaintiff's medical bills., 2007
Pej won a $432,756.00 verdict against the Hershey Family Trust in a slip-and-fall accident case after only two weeks. The Plaintiff suffered a significant fall down the staircase of his apartment building. After thorough investigation, Ben-Cohen’s staff revealed that the Defendants had used inappropriate paint and being fully aware of its danger did nothing about it. The Defendants argued that the extensive injuries that the Plaintiff had suffered from were in fact pre-existing; he had been treating his lower back for the previous 4 years. In an ingenious response, the staff recovered surveillance tape of the Plaintiff going about his daily activities including carrying heavy materials and undergoing physical labor. Mr. Ben-Cohen is currently the President of Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charities ("LATLC"), a non-profit organization that assists single mothers, homeless children and the hungry with everyday aspects of life.
