    Verdicts/Settlements (Case Results):
    • During contested Limited Administration proceeding, I persuaded court that decedent's son should be appointed as Limited Administrator over objections from all three (3) of his siblings and their big law firm attorneys. , 2024
    • In 2022, I oversaw a complicated real estate transaction and successfully closed it. Decedent passed away in March, 2020, from Covid, his surviving wife also passed away a few hours later from Covid. Decedent had one (1) biological daughter, while his wife’s next-of-kin was a brother and an estranged sister that could not be located. Under the new N.Y.E.P.T. 2-1.6, “an individual who is not established by clear and convincing evidence to have survived the other individual by one hundred twenty hours is deemed to have predeceased the other individual[.]”  Accordingly, Decedent’s only child was entitled to inherit 100% of Decedent’s house, which passed to her by operation of New York law upon Decedent’s passing. Unfortunately, buyer’s big title company’s senior counsel refused to insure this sale by arguing that case law interpreting the old version of the statute should control; they demanded two (2) estate proceedings be instituted. I managed to persuade a different reputable title company’s senior counsel to insure the only child’s 100% title, and, pursuant to a contract provision I drafted, I compelled the buyer to use this alternate title company and close the transaction., 2022
