    • During 1968-70 served as an engineering officer aboard The SS TRANSGLOBE, a specialized transport vessel carrying military supplies into Saigon and DaNang. The vessel was inducted into the National Maritime Hall of Fame on Jan 31st 2009 as the most decorated of all American Merchant Ships during the Vietnam War and for moving the most cargo and making the most trips into Saigon and DaNang.  The Transglobe was awarded Four Battle Stars  acknowledging service under fire on four occasions and other awards and commendations for rescuing 71 Taiwanese fisherman during typhoon Elaine on 10/08/71.
