Verdicts/Settlements (Case Results):

Newbury v. City of Windcrest, Tex., 991 F.3d 672 (5th Cir. 2021) Plaintiff, a former police officer, sued the City of Windcrest for same-sex sexual harassment and retaliation. The City successfully defended against the claims and established no adverse employment action occurred and in the alternative, no causal relationship existed between gender and any alleged harassment. The U.S. Fifth Circuit held that despite the recent expansion of protected classes of individuals under Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia, 140 S. Ct. 1731, 207 L. Ed. 2d 218 (2020), that decision "in no way altered the preexisting legal standard for sexual harassment"., 2021
Benny Martinez v City of Leon ValleyCause No. 2019-CI-08343; In the 438th judicial district court of Bexar County, Texas City Official sued to vacate fortitude of attorney council position. Court ruled he had no standing to suit. Standing is reserve quo warranto. , 2020
