Barsegyan v. Torabian - Mr. Buus represented a securities broker-dealer in a FINRA arbitration in which the client alleged another broker-dealer wrongfully failed and refused to pay her share of commissions owed from certain investment transactions. After the hearing, the arbitrator awarded Mr. Buus's client her share of the commissions, 2018
Boulter v. Boulter - Mr. Buus represented a shareholder who was accused by another shareholder of misappropriating millions of dollars of corporate assets. After trial, the court found in favor of Mr. Buus's client, who was completely exhonerated of all wrongdoing, 2017
Quoc Viet Foods v. VV Foods - Mr. Buus represented a large soup manufacturer against another soup manufacturer for trademark infringement. At trial, the jury found that the client's trademark was valid and infringed and that the defendant infringed the trademark. Ultimately, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld that verdict, 2016
Universal Products v. Omega Products: a $500,000 jury verdict in a breach of contract case in which a pool plaster supplier sued a manufacture for selling defective pool plaster product to the supplier, 2015
Silver State v. FuturaNet: a $200,000 verdict after a jury trial in a breach of contract case in which his client, a tour bus operator, sued a travel agent for unpaid bookings, 2015
Valerie Boulter v. Christopher Boulter, Orange County Superior Court Case Number 30-2013-00630918: obtained favorable court ruling in a proceeding to determine the fair value of a corporation under Corporations Code section 2000 so that the client was able to buy-out a hostile shareholder, 2014
Wakefield v. Olen Properties: successfully defended against copyright infringement action brought by sculptor claiming his sculpture was copied by a large real estate developer, 2014
Greenlight Financial Services, Inc. v. Internet Brands, Inc., Orange County Superior Court Case Number 30-2012-00558307, obtained a jury verdict of $750,000 for plaintiff in a breach of contract case involving defendant's use of the Greenlight name, 2013
